Enjoying Birds in the Landscape
Enjoying
Birds in the Landscape
Birds
in your landscape are an exciting part of nature that
people of all ages enjoy through the different seasons.
Birds in the spring, summer, fall, or even in the
winter months can be an interesting portion of your
day, adding to your mood enhancing feeling for the
day.
What
do bird feeders give you in the spring months?
No matter what time of year it is, hanging a new bird
feeder or filling the bird feeder that you have, will
bring the birds back to your landscape. If you have
not had a bird feeder in your landscape before, birds
will come because you have food.
Including
the use of bird feeders in your landscape adds movement
and additional color to your landscape even when your
gardens are not in bloom. Bird feeders and birdhouses
are a nice way to easily bring more to your landscape
and your backyard. Decorative bird feeders and colorful
bird feeders attract not only the birds, but also
your eye to style.
Bird
feeders are easy to install. Most all bird feeders
come completely assembled, with a small number needing
some type of assembling. Generally, the most you have
to do to actually put bird feeders in your backyard
is to fill them!
If
you have a certain type of style, theme or color in
your back yard, you are very likely to find a bird
feeder that will fit in with this style and décor.
There are wood bird feeders, plastic bird feeders,
glass, and even specially molded bird feeders for
you to choose from.
What
is going to bring the birds to your feeder other than
food?
Where you are placing, your bird feeder is going to
be important also. Your bird feeder should be placed
in an area where the wind, rain, and the snow will
not blow or hurt the birds. A bird feeder in a tree
is likely to be sheltered from the wind and a bit
from the rain.
A
bird feeder placed near a window or building is going
to offer additional warmth for the birds in the middle
of the winter months. In the summer months, the building
will offer a little shade for birds to sit in while
they are eating from your bird feeder.
If
you live in an area that is very cold in the winter,
and hot in the summer, choosing a bird feeder that
will withstand the various temperatures is what you
should be searching for. Some types of glass or even
wood can become brittle or wear down faster than other
types of bird feeders under these same conditions.
